BP1
BP1 is a common semi dwarfing Pear rootstock 60 - 70% tree size of D6/Calleryana. It produces trees uniform in size with reliable heavy cropping, bearing fruit early. Resistant to collar rot and latent viruses however, susceptible to fireblight. BP1 is suitable for high density planting and warmer regions. However, in this environment may require spur pruning. Best on sandy loam to clay loam soils.
CG 202
A semi dwarfing Apple rootstock, slightly larger than M26, producing very few suckers. Resistant to fire blight and phtophthora, with a good resistance to woolly apple aphid and partial tolerance to replant disease. Does well in warmer climates and is best suited for tree densities of 1500 - 2500 trees / ha.
D6
D6 is a common Pear rootstock which is vigorous and crops heavily producing large top quality fruit but it is slower to bear. Suitable to numerous soil types. It is good on lime induced chlorosis and copes well on damp heavy soils. D6 is resistant to fireblight, leaf spot and wooly aphid but susceptable to pear blast and has average protection to crown galls, collar rot and mildew. Overall it is a reliable productive rootstock.
Empyrean 1 cv. (Primo/Barrier 1)
Compatible with Peaches, Apricots, some Japanese Plums and most Almonds. Similar or greater vigour as GF677 seedling, producing no suckers and tolerant to root knot nematodes. Very adaptable to many soil types and problems, with tolerance to calcareous and alkaline soils, along with waterlogging. It has a deep, rapid rootsystem growth, assisting with drought tolerance. Yields equivalent to top four Almond roostocks used in California.
GF677
Compatible with Almonds, Nectarines, Peaches and Plums. Known to be an extremely vigorous rootstock with tolerance to lime induced chlorosis soils. Is susceptible to root knot nematode. Great for planting in replant paddocks.
Krymsk™ 5
Compatible with both sweet and sour Cherries this rootstock produces trees 90% the size of F12. With a smooth graft unions, excellent tree form and good adaption to cold climates. It produces high yields early with good fruit size and firmness. Resistant to wet soils, however sensitive to Prunus ringspot and Prunus dwarf virus with moderate suckering.
Krymsk™ 6
Compatible with both sweet and sour Cherries this rootstock is semi dwarfing produces trees 75% the size of F12. With a smooth graft unions, excellent tree form and good adaption to cold climates. It produces high yields early with good fruit size and firmness. Resistant to wet soils and tolerant to water stress, however sensitive to Prunus ringspot and Prunus dwarf virus with moderate suckering.
Krymsk™ 86 (Kuban 86 cv.)
Compatible with Peaches, Nectarines, Plums, some Apricots and some Almonds. Trees produce heavy crops and are vigorous. Some trunk and root suckers will occur. A good choice for replants. Has a vigorous root system when established which adapts to numerous soils and conditions, being very resistant to stress eg. high PH soils, wet soils, tolerates salt and aphyxia. Highly resistant to Lesion nematodes however, is susceptible to root-knot nematodes. May replace Marianna Plum rootstock.
M26
An Apple rootstock suitable for high density planting. Dwarfs trees 55 - 60% of seedling size. Produces good crops of large fruit. Susceptible to wooly aphids and mildly susceptible to collar rot. Needs support in most conditions.
M9
A widely used Apple rootstock for high density plantings. Dwarfs trees 40 - 45% of seedling size. Very precocious. Produces large size fruit. Susceptible to wooly aphids. Needs support and requires good fertile well drained soils. There are several strains of M9 which will become available over time.
MM106
A popular Apple rootstock which produces a tree 60 - 70% of seedling size. Resistant to woolly aphid but collar rot susceptible. Precocious heavy cropper. Suitable for semi intensive plantings. Prefers well drained soils.
Mazzard (F12)
F12 is a vigorous rootstock suited to many sweet and sour Cherries. Grown under a wider range of conditions but doesn't cope well in extremely wet areas. Resistant to root - knot nematodes and moderate resistance to diseases such as bacterial canker.
Myrobalan H29C
Myrobalan H29C is compatible with Plums, Apricots, and some Almonds. It produces vigorous growing trees suited to many soil conditions coping well in wetter areas with its shallow root system. Resistant to root - knot nematode.
Nemaguard
Is compatible with Peaches, Nectarines, Apricots, Plums, Prunes and Almonds. Vigorous rootstock which crops well and grows in free draining soils to sandy sites. Is resistant to root - knot nematodes. However, susceptible to root lesion nematodes, bacterial canker, waterlogging, salty soils and lime induced chlorosis.
Nic™ 29
A dwarf Apple rootstock. Similar to M26 in tree size with M9 precocity and productivity. With a more developed root system than the M9.
